Before you begin

Choosing the right surface is one of the most important steps in achieving a smooth, long-lasting wallpaper installation.

Wallpaper works best on walls that are smooth, clean, dry, sound, painted or primed. Results can vary depending on your wall surface, paint, primer, room conditions, preparation and installation method, so we always recommend reading the full installation instructions before you begin.

For best results, order a sample first and test it on your intended wall, especially if you are using peel and stick wallpaper or applying wallpaper to a wall with an unknown paint or surface history.

Heavily textured or uneven surfaces may prevent proper adhesion and can cause visible uneveness or pattern distortion.
